Bio-chemical waste water treatment plant
All effluents at Altai-Koks are in the closed water cycle. The water undergoes several treatment stages before it is returned to the process. The plant does not discharge any of its effluents. The bio-chemical treatment plant improves the quality of coke shops waste water by 20 times, so that it can be safely re-used in the closed loop process.
The treatment plant employs a unique integrated water treatment technology serving to remove phenols and rhodanides from effluents. This enables high water treatment efficiency (up to 95%).
On top of that, all facilities and service lines are above the ground on a concrete isolated platform equipped with a collection tank for rain, snow and drain waters. This helps to completely prevent ground water contamination in case of a tank leakage.
