At the Altai-Koks plant, there are five coke batteries with a production capacity of 4.4 million tonnes of dry coke per year. Modern coke battery No.5 is unique for Russia and the CIS. Innovative technical solutions, using the most advanced domestic and foreign experience, laid down the foundation for the the design of this battery.

Altai-Koks benefits

Thanks to their joint work in creating a technological union, Novolipetsk and Altai-Koks produced the highest-quality coke in Russia, increasing its CSR to 60%–64%. This allowed the company to move away from importing coal and return to the export markets, stabilize blast-furnace production at Novolipetsk, and increase primary processing efficiency.

Technical control department, being a part of expert and analytical service of Altai-Koks, has a continuous incoming coal quality control as well as products quality control. The results of CSR and coke reactivity tests are internationally acknowledged. In 2012, the technical control department of Altai-Koks obtained an accreditation certificate for conformity to the requirements of international standard ISO/IEC 17025 "General Requirements to the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories" with DakkS GbmH German test accreditation agency.
