Alexander Ivanov, an employee of Altai-Koks, has won the regional stage of All-Russian competition of professional skills in the category "Best Lathe Operator".

The regional competition on professional skills in various occupations is held each year. Altai-Koks takes part in it since 2007. This year 13 lathe operators and millers from nine leading industrial enterprises of Barnaul, Zarinsk and Novoaltaisk competed for the title of "Best Lathe Operator" and "Best Miller".

The competition traditionally required a demonstration of theoretical knowledge, and practical skill - to make a spare part based on drawings. Alexander Ivanov expertly machined a fitting from a billet in compliance with all sizes and properly executed the thread which determined his victory in the competition. The award ceremony will take place in August 2016. In the meantime, the Best Lathe Operator is preparing to represent Altai Territory at the All-Russian contest, which will be held in Tula on June 3-4.

Alexander Ivanov has been with Altai-Koks for 22 years already. It is the first time that he participated in the regional competition even though he regularly wins such competitions at the plant. He was repeatedly encouraged with corporate awards for his diligent work. His colleagues have nothing but praises for him: a great lathe operator, with extensive experience and qualities important in his profession - he is observant, tech savvy and has spatial thinking. No wonder that over the years, Alexander has been an instructor of industrial training sharing his experience with young employees.
